Utinam
Time Art
When Philippe Lebru woke up Besançon, the sleepy watchmaking capital in the heart of the Jura mountains, in 1993, it was to play with and challenge the codes of traditional watchmaking in order to think and create a new way of conceiving and experiencing time.

Multidisciplinary art
Artist, creator, inventor, designer...
Like Utinam, Philippe Lebru doesn't fit into any box.
His work evolves and reveals the porous boundaries between the worlds of design, art mechanics and contemporary watchmaking.

Time measurement
Clocks, watches, automata... Utinam's mechanical and kinetic works of art offer a time that goes beyond simple measurement: autonomous, independent time, free to repeat itself ad infinitum.

In March 2021, French designers Philippe Lebru and Alain Silberstein joined forces to launch the Kontwaz Bauhaus 2 (KB2) clock; a fun, refreshing co-creation. Its dial, hands and various other components play on the primary colours and geometrical shapes that make up Alain Silberstein's inimitable style - and the basis of his international success. Inspired by Philippe Lebru's iconic Pop Up clock, it is equipped with his famous UTINAM movement. A fine example of Nouvelle Horlogerie with a "French Touch"!
Limited to 88 pieces, KB2 is fully developed and crafted by the UTINAM manufacture, located in Besançon, in the heart of France's watchmaking region
Limited editions of 88 pieces
