M.A.D.2 R&B
The M.A.D.2 was launched in 2025 as the perfect vehicle for designer Eric Giroud to express his passion for the wild spirit of 1990s club culture with a design inspired by vinyl records and DJ turntables.
In 2026, two new editions join the collection; the M.A.D.2 R&B and the M.A.D.2 REDemption!
The R&B version comes with a stunning black dial plate and striking red discs.
It is available to all through our raffle system.

The M.A.D.2 R&B
This new edition is called R&B – short for Red & Black, but also a nod to the music genre that has always been part of club life. The dial plate and strap come in stealthy midnight black, contrasted by red jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs.
The M.A.D.2 R&B is available through the raffle system that has become a trademark of M.A.D.Editions. Registrations remain open for one week, giving everyone interested in acquiring a piece plenty of time to participate; the subsequent random draw will, as always, be conducted under the supervision of a bailiff, giving everyone a fair chance.
If you missed the beginning: the M.A.D.2 series
After multiple variations of the initial and hugely successful M.A.D.1, signed by MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser, the M.A.D.2 opened a new chapter and told a different story – a new Edition, signed by Eric Giroud. After 20 years of creative partnership with Max at MB&F, it only made sense for Eric to join the M.A.D.Editions adventure.
The M.A.D.2 is the second act in a saga that started with an unexpected hit – the M.A.D.1 – and a love letter to the wild spirit of 1990s club culture. Eric and Max both hail from Lausanne; in the ’90s, Eric was tearing it up on dancefloors, living the club scene at the legendary MAD (Moulin à Danses) and Dolce Vita clubs, surrounded by musicians, actors, artists… and DJs.

The Raffle
Choosing the fairest way possible to allocate the M.A.D.Editions has been the subject of endless hours of internal debate at MB&F. The team felt that the usual systems – including drops, queuing endlessly at retail outlets, or never-ending waiting lists – were extremely frustrating for customers. It was decided that raffles were the fairest way: they give everyone a fair chance and ample time to register.

About the watch
The M.A.D.2’s raised central subdials – displaying the hours and minutes – look like the turntables of a DJ mixing console. The central dial’s grooves and colour mimic a vinyl record. Surrounding it is the platter, inspired by the stroboscopic band of the legendary Technics SL-1200 Mark 2 turntable, complete with Super-LumiNova stop pins. Every flick of the wrist sets the platter spinning: it is in fact the automatic winding rotor, visible from both the front and the back.
The M.A.D.2’s 42mm stainless steel and sapphire case is shaped like a rounded pebble, with metal markers indicating the time at the centre of the watch. And there’s a horological surprise: the bi-directional jumping-hour module developed by the MB&F team. It is powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 calibre, beating at 4Hz and offering 64 hours of power reserve.

Inspiration
Legendary designer Eric Giroud: 20 years of designing MB&F pieces. 20 years of creative partnership with Max. For the 20th anniversary of MB&F, it’s only fitting—this one’s his. His baby. His vision. But following up a hit? That’s a challenge. It’s like the second album of a band that nailed their debut.
Eric and Max both hail from Lausanne; Giroud’s journey is anything but traditional Swiss design. While others might have been lurking around cold offices, Eric was tearing it up on dancefloors, living the 1990s club scene. Nights at the legendary MAD (Moulin à Danses) and Dolce Vita clubs in Lausanne, surrounded by creatives, musicians, actors and artists, shaped his aesthetic.
Friends called him "Erico." He hung out with Sébastien and Stephan Kohler—DJs who hit international fame with their track At Night. Early house music boomed, Stephan Kohler (Mandrax) spun vinyl on the famous Technics SL-1200 Mark 2, and there was a palpable sense of freedom. The 90s were electric, a time when change was in the air, especially in music. This is the world that inspired the M.A.D.2—a watch born from the heartbeat of a bygone rave era.
Behind the M.A.D.2
In discussion with his long time friend Maximilian Büsser, Eric Giroud shares insights about his career path, musical background and how his years hanging out with DJs and dancing all night long in the 1990s club scene have deeply influenced him.
